Q & A with Sophie McKenzie

Sophie McKenzie, author of the popular Medusa series, is a born and bred Londoner. She fell in love with writing after enrolling in a creative writing course. Her first novel, Girl Missing, was a truly successful debut and it won many awards.  The following questions are taken from an interview with her on the Simon and Schuster website.

Q: How would you describe your life in only 8 words?

A: Wherever I go, there I am

Q: If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

A: Playing the piano brilliantly

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

A: Books with unsatisfying endings

Q: What three personal qualities are most important to you?

A: Kindness, Integrity, Humour

Q: If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

A: Pasta

Q: Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

A: Read a lot. Write a lot. Be open to criticism. Keep it simple. Don’t give up.

Q: What comment do you hear most often from your readers?

A: Will there be a sequel?
